Things are really looking good for Nigerian pop singer Wale ‘W4' Adepoju. Riding on the success of his hit single ‘Wa gba Kontrol’, the upcomer is now lounging in the mainstream, and planting himself firmly on the scene.
The singer is now stepping up his comfort: we’re told he’s just bought a brand new Chrysler 300 (2005 Model).
The estimated worth of the black sedan is N4M, although his minders put no figures to it.
Late last year, W4 did a 180 on his career and made a comeback when he released the single ‘Wa gba Kontrol‘ which became a smash hit with fans. A follow up video bolstered his efforts and relaunched his career into the mainstream.
The singer emerged in the music scene in the early 2000s working with 2face and Sound Sultan, before debuting with the ‘Temperature‘ LP which brought out the hits ‘Solo‘ and ‘Amen‘. But short stints at 2face’s Hypertek, Sound Sultan‘s Naija Ninja and Toni Payne‘s management saw his career dwindle as he fell off the radar.
Now, things have definitely changed, and the singer is enjoying the dividends of a carefully thought-out rebranding. W4 is bringing back the stage style of Fela Kuti, and blending the sound of Afrobeat with pop music. The fans are loving it, and he’s getting paid in full.
‘The brand is fresh and as far as money is concerned, well what can I say? We thank God‘, W4 said in a recent interview with NET. He is currently working on his yet-to-be titled second album.
