The crisis rocking Ogun State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has claimed another casualty barely two weeks after a chairmanship candidate in Ogun waterside was mysteriously killed.
The recent killing occurred on Sunday night in the Ipokia Local Government Area, when a loyalist of ex-governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Mr. Solomon Ogundele, was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen .
We learnt that Ogunbele was the former chairman of Ihunbo- Ilashe ward in the council area.
It will be recalled that the ruling party in the state had been polarised with Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Osoba leading the two groups.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said the incident was a case of a lone accident and not murder as being speculated in some quarters.
He said the corpse was found by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, who were said to have reported the case at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Idi-Iroko.
