The Nigerian Army has confirmed an explosion from an improvised explosive
device along Kaduna-Zaria road. The explosion which occurred between Dankande village and Marrarabar, Jos,
was planted by unknown persons.
The army spokesman said that the device exploded around 5:30 p.m.
The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division, Kaduna, Col. Sani
Usman, who confirmed the incident, said only one person sustained injury.
He said that the army had already deployed experts to ascertain the
situation.
Usman appealed to residents of the area not to panic as security agents were
on top of the situation.
He also called on the residents to assist security personnel with useful
information and to be vigilant and report strange movements.
