However, a source said about 15 bodies was recovered at Gada Bako area of the city, adding that the death toll had risen to 40, while many are still missing.

Meanwhile, Plateau State Government has condoled the Muslim community over the unfortunate disaster, which occurred at Gangere, Rikkos Tudun, Angwan Rogo, Corner Shagari and Abba Na Shehu areas, which saw scores losing their lives, while no fewer than 200 houses were destroyed, rendering many homeless.
Leading the state government delegation, Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Mallam Idi Waziri visited the Jamatul Nasril Islam, JNI, at Jos Central Mosque.
Waziri, who represented Governor Jonah Jang, said the governor was worried over the unfortunate development.
