Armed Robbers Kill 3 Soldiers, Snatch N35m LG Salary

Some gunmen suspected to be robbers have killed three soldiers and an accountant who were conveying salary of workers of Gulani local government, Yobe state, northeast Nigeria.
We learnt the robbers opened fire on the bus conveying the military personnel, the accountant identified as Ali Lawan Dachia, and the salary said to be about N35 million.
Sources said the money was being conveyed from Gashua local government when the bandits waylaid the team close to the entrance to Gulani.

Yobe police commissioner Patrick Egbuniwe confirmed the attack and said the incident happened at around 5:40pm on Wednesday.
A similar attack occurred some months ago when armed robbers snatched salaries of workers of Potiskum local government.

In that incident payment was going on when the robbers struck.
Salary of primary school teachers in Gujba local government area was also snatched by robbers.
Several local government councils have suffered similar attacks in recent months.
