Ex-Osun Governor, Oyinlola Faces Probe Over Contract

Ex governor of Osun State Olagunsoye Oyinlola and 69 others are to appear on Monday before a panel of inquiry set up by Governor Rauf Aregbesola over contract awards during Oyinlola’s tenure
The chairman of the panel, Prof. Femi Odekunle, told newsmen on Thursday in Osogbo that the panel had concluded preliminary work and would sit from September 3 to September 14.
The panel is to probe major financial transactions and contracts awarded by the state government from May 2003 to November 2010.

Aregbesola had on 18 June inaugurated a six-man commission of inquiry to investigate contracts awarded by the former governor’s administration.
Odekunle said the public sitting would hold from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the the state High Court at Okefia in Osogbo.

Members of the panel include Mr. Kole Adeyemo, Dr Obi Daramola, Mr Akin Akintayo, Mr Soji Olowolafe, with Mr Kelani Adesina as secretary.
Odekunle said the exercise was not for witch-hunt but to seek clarifications on how public funds for major contracts were used.
