Dr. Dalhatu Tafida, the 72-year old Nigerian High Commissioner to the United
Kingdom, is not enjoying the best of health, according to sources at the
Nigerian High Commission on Northumberland Avenue, West London.
Tafida, who has occupied the position since 2008, is said to spend about two hours daily in office.
He is said to be having difficulty sitting for long and hardly completes his itinerary, leaving the Head of Chancery to take full charge of administrative and some diplomatic duties. Recently, some Nigerian youths in the UK paid a courtesy visit to the High Commission.
Despite being notified of the visit in advance and being around on the day it took place, the High Commissioner did not receive the visitors.
