Hope Udoh, a 23-year old housekeeper was brought to an Igbosere
Magistrates' Court in Lagos today for allegedly stealing gold worth N30
million.
She is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Marcus Okon, said the accused allegedly stole N30 million gold belonging her employer, Mrs Edevbie David, on Dec. 5 at 2.00 p.m. He said Hope conspired with others still at large to steal the property of her boss at 29, Ologun Kutere St., Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.
Okon said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused told the court she did not commit the offence and was granted bail by the Magistrate W.B. Balogun in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The Judge adjourned further hearing to Jan. 24.
