Popular actor, Wole Ojo, has been on television ever since he was a child. He first cut his teeth in the profession with the kiddies television show, Kidivision 101. The actor said his mother inspired him to become an actor.
He said, “I would say acting is something I have always wanted to do among other things. Law was actually one of the other things I really wanted to do. I considered both Law and Acting at the same time but the opportunity to feature in Kidivision 101 came up at the time I was living on Ahmadu Bello Way in Lagos at the Bar Beach Police Barracks precisely and NTA was just a stone throw away. I practically grew up in front of the television. I would always see stuff on TV and I’d always talk about it, criticise it, and mimic it.
“Eventually, I was challenged by my mum. I would credit the start of my career to her. There was a day I was saying a lot of things about a play I saw on the television and she said, ‘NTA is just around the corner, if you think you can do so well why not pay them a visit’. I did so and that was how it all started for me. That served as a foundation for me because I was able to practise professionally at a tender age and at the time, NTA was like the standard for television in this country. I had the opportunity to work with a lot of professionals like Sadiq Daba, Charles Novia, Taiwo Oduleye, the list is endless.”
