Delta State Police Command, yesterday, charged six suspected robbers alleged to have disarmed and shot dead six police officers, including an Assistant Superintendent of Police and two Inspectors of Police, between 2011 and this year, in the state before a Magistrate’s Court in Warri on a seven-count charge of conspiracy, murder and stealing.
The accused persons are Dominic Ebuka Ugwu (22) ‘M’; Joshua Akpobome (22) ‘M’; Wenefo Okojie (26) ‘M’; Akpos Moses (30) ‘M’; Ndubusi Okafor (22) ‘M’ and Felix Erujero (21) ‘M’.
No plea was taken on the charge number, MW/48C/2012 yesterday, but Magistrate E.O. Odjugo ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody until March 26 when the case would be mentioned.
The charge sheet read: “That you Dominic Ebuka Ugwu ‘m’, Joshua Akpobome ‘m’, Wenefo Okojie ‘m’, Akpos Moses ‘m’, Ndubusi Okafor ‘m’, Felix Erujero ‘m’ and others now at large on the 28/12/2011, 12/01/2012, 20/01/2012 and 23/01/2012 in company of one Tega Ighomorore ‘m’ Alias T-boy, now deceased, in Warri and its environs, in the Warri Magistrate District, did conspire with one another to commit felony to wit: murder and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 324 of the criminal code cap C 21 vol.1 laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.”
