Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has held an
inter-denominational prayer for the release of Rasaq Gawat, a presenter with the
NTA, abducted two weeks ago.
The prayer was held at the NUJ Secretariat, Alausa on Monday by members of the union, Muslim and Christian clerics, and the Special Adviser to Governor Raji Fashola on religious affairs, Hakeem Kosoko.
Kosoko expressed concern on the where about of Gawat, saying he was a man of peace.
The adviser urged the people with any clue on his disappearance to forward such information to relevant security agencies.
Also speaking, Rev. Dele Ashaju described the abduction of the NTA presenter as a ``challenge to all Nigerians''.
He urged Nigerians to come together irrespective of their religious belief to pray for his release.
``Nigeria is considered the most religious country particularly in Africa. This is the time for all Nigerians to unite and pray for his release.'' Ashaju added.
