Unemployment In Nigeria: Man Warns Federal Government

Ex-Minister of Transport and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Ebenezer Babatope has warned the federal government to, as a matter of urgency, tackle the issue of unemployment of the army of Nigerians youths who are trooping out of the university in droves, before it is too late.

Chief Ebenezer Babatope
Babatope gave the warning at the weekend in Lagos at a public lecture. He noted that, as long as unemployment continues to grow in Nigeria, the economic indices of progress in Nigeria will continue to be bad.

“We have now recorded thirty years of graduate unemployment in our country. I remember too well that graduate unemployment started to become a national problem in 1982,” he said.
The member of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT, noted that the trend which had forced university graduates to be hawking various articles on the streets while many are involved in armed robbery, is a sign that all is not well.

I READ THAT THERE ARE OVER 45,000 GHOST WORKERS IN THE MINISTRIES. NO WONDER THERE IS NO JOB FOR GRADUATES AND COMMON NIGERIANS. THIS IS EVIL, SELFISH AND A VERY WICKED ACT. THIS PRACTICE WILL CRIPLE THE COUNTRY IN THE NEAR FUTURE. YOUNG MEN & SHOULD BE EMPLOYED TO CONTINUE THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA. MOSTLY YOUNG ME SHOULD BE GIBING THE CONFIDENCE TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE CHILDREN BY HELPING THEM TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT.
